A JW who recovered from Covid 19 and has the antibodies as usual wouldn't be able to donate his blood to help others but thank goodness for them, accepting blood fractions with Covid19 is a conscience matter.

Plasma treatment for COVID-19
by frozen2018 insaw on the news a story about using plasma from people who have recovered from covid-19 being used to treat people who have covid-19 via transfusion.
well, if that proves to be effective, i guess it would really stink to be a jw!
maybe the governing body would decree that in instances of covid-19, and only with covid-19, the whole "no blood" thing would be ignored.

There are those who are pushing for alternative power alternatives even though they may currently use the existing grid for the most part. I'm sure at this time, they'd want their care facility to go with the power source that is readily available and has a proven track record because for the most part, that's all we have right now. Although they may have concerns with the long term effects and or viability of what we currently have, I'm sure they'd agree that experimenting with alternatives during a pandemic is a bad idea.
I guessing you already knew this but couldn't resist this unusual circumstance to rub someone's nose in it a little.

Sister Not Sure If She Is 144 000 or Great Crowd
by Awake at last ini haven’t posted here for years as i have now moved on and am satisfied with the choice i have made to leave watchtower.
however in light of the coronavirus and people in australia and other countries being asked to stay at home i became concerned for a witness sister who lives in melbourne alone who is 88 years old.
today i gave her a call as i don’t trust the local witnesses to care for her.

JWs love to think of Jehovah as a reader of hearts. It brings them comfort to think that no matter what, he knows their true motive and understands their human frailties.
Tell her that Jehovah undoubtedly understands how conflicted she is and undoubtedly appreciates her taking the matter seriously and being respectful enough to withhold from partaking from the emblems when she’s not all together sure.
Perhaps it’s easier for to envision living in Heaven because she learned or had that hope before becoming a JW.
Either way, he will make sure she’s there if he wants her there and she’ll get a clear message if he calls her.
I don’t believe any of this of course but these thoughts may bring comfort to someone in their 80s who does.

If You're Just Here to spread Your TDS, It's Time to Say Goodbye
by Simon inif all you want to do it deliver a constant whine of "orange man bad" then find someplace else to do.
it.
frankly, i can't be bothered with the bullshit anymore.. honestly, your politics and the whole virtue signalling woke brigade has actually started causing real deaths and was ruining life for many before that.. if you can't control your disease, then i'll do it for you.. it's not open for debate..

For those like me who had a good idea but weren't sure exactly TDS, means.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trump_derangement_syndrome
Trump derangement syndrome (TDS) is a term for criticism or negative reactions to United States President Donald Trump that are alleged to be irrational and have little regard towards Trump's actual positions or actions taken.[2] The term has been used by Trump supporters to discredit criticism of his actions, as a way of reframing the discussion by suggesting that his opponents are incapable of accurately perceiving the world.[3][1][4]

Inarticulate people use "cuss words" in place of the words they lack to express themselves. This isn't an option for JW's (at least while they're praying) so to make up for lack of content, they insert the word Jehovah to flesh out their prayers. Praying in front of others isn't an easy thing to do and coming up with new material each time is even worse.

I don’t know about how the virus has effected them so far but I’m sure the folks at headquarters are patting themselves on the back for having moved out of the city before this hit. Calling it Jehovah’s Direction that they sold off the properties and moved out of the city before the virus struck and the stock market tanked.

This is what JWs do they predict then try to put square pegs in round holes like they did in 1914. They predicted the end of the world but WW1 started so that was the prediction
Confirmation bias:The tendency to interpret new evidence as confirmation of ones existing beliefs/theories.
In 1957 when the first satellite was launched into space, JW's said it confirmed the Bible's end time prediction that there'd be fearful signs from the heavens in the last days.
Frequency Illusion/Baader-Meinhoff phenomenon: A cognitive bias which describes our tendency to see new information, names, ideas or patterns 'everywhere' after they're first brought to our attention.
Rather than seeing earthquakes, hurricanes, diseases, food shortages as isolated incidents, for the past 100+ years, JW's have been on the lookout for signs and have shoe horned every unfavorable global occurrence into being signs of the time of the end. They even view normalcy or favorable occurrences (peace and security) as a sign of the end. If mankind accomplishes something good, they say it's because Satan is trying to mislead them into thinking they don't need God. It's a win win set up for JW's.

New Light!
by ZindagiNaMilegiDobaara inyes this could very much be a reality in the following months, the washtowel will spin this corona crisis this way using isaiah 26 : 20 " go my people enter your rooms and shut the doors behind you; hide yourselves for a little while until this wrath has passed by".. as it is they seem so hyped up about the gt !.
i will be surprised if after this crisis is over they will literally use this verse to cover over why this was not the final day of the final days of the end of the end of the short end times!.
zing.

On one hand (when it comes to scaring up contributions) they acknowledge that JW's will have much to endure during the "tribulation" and on the other hand (just when they can't take anymore fear mongering) they find a scripture that tell's them that they'll somehow be hidden away until it's all over.
It's part of the "scare em' and then make em' feel safe so they stick around" tactic that is part and parcel of the religion racket.

Do You Think Trump Is Doing.A Good Job Dealing With The Coronavirus?
by minimus inwho needs a press secretary when the president details what is happening every day to keep us informed?
i think he’s doing a very good job considering what is happening in the usa and the world..

It kinda' depends on the day. Sometimes during his press conferences I marvel at his composure under the circumstances and other times, I have to look hard for honest facts in the information he's trying to convey and hope that he's not blowing smoke up our collective a**es.
Overall, I think we're going to come out of this somewhat scathed, but all the more wiser.
